This week we held our own golfing tournament using some new golf sets that we purchased. We found that we had to shout ‘fore’ quite a few times! Using the golf clubs is excellent practice for hand eye coordination though: even hitting the ball can be quite tricky!

We also made some colourful collage golf flags.

We had another lovely visit to Greenacres this week. We played skittles and sang with the residents.

We had a new winner of the ‘tip top tidy-upper’ trophy. Well done! I hope that all of the childrens’ good tidying up is happening at home too.

We’ve had lots of birthdays lately and lots of cake! We love to celebrate special occasions with the children. Could we request that shop bought cakes are brought in in their boxes and homemade cakes have a list of ingredients included. This is due to rules on allergies that require us to keep a record of what is in what we serve at preschool. Thank you!

This week we bought an Echo dot to use at preschool. We find it a fabulous resource for answering any questions ourselves and the children may have. It’s also great for ‘disco Friday’ and for  finding songs to wind down or tidy up to.

Various staff members have attended courses this week. Miss Warren took part in a ‘5 to Thrive’ workshop and Mrs Chapple found out about the new Ofsted inspection framework 😳. Mr David went to a local network meeting and Mrs Matthews went to a leaders and managers briefing.

Book bags are still available at £6 each. See a staff member if you would like one.

Here are a few advanced dates for your diaries:

On Thursday 31st October we have been invited to a Halloween party at Greenacres. This will be for the children who are usually in on this day. If your child would like to wear a costume, that would be great.

We will be holding our Nativity in the morning on Tuesday 10th December, so try to keep this date free! More details on times and your child’s role will follow soon!

Our letter of the week next week will be ‘d’ and our Makaton sign is ‘water’.

Finally, a request. If any of you have any tricycles, cars or scooters that your family have grown out of, we would be very grateful for them. Thank you! 👍😀
