Welcome back everyone and a big hello to all of our new children and families. We hope that you had a lovely Christmas and New Year and are feeling refreshed for a brand new term.
This half term we are going to be concentrating on letters and numbers. More on the activities included in this topic in the next few weeks, so keep checking our blog.
You may have noticed that our outdoor area has been spruced up over the break. Once again thank you to Travis Perkins for the AstroTurf, it is so nice for the children to be able to use the equipment in all weathers. This week the children and adults worked together to create a nature area. We hope to attract mini beasts as the days warm up and also find that observing the growth of the plants stimulates a lot of interest and language.
One of our children brought in a book from home this week called ‘Eat Your Peas’. The children really enjoyed the story and we extended this activity by having peas for snack. They went down really well, with most children willing to try them and liking them.
A reminder that funding forms need to be returned now as the deadline is nearly here and claims cannot be made if it is missed. Please see Mrs Matthews if you need any more information on this.
We would still like any donations of unwanted baby items. We would like to extend the childrens’ role play this term and these items would really help to stimulate the childrens’ imaginations and communication skills. If you have anything that you no longer need, please hand it to a member of staff. Thank you! π
Another thing we would be very grateful for are any colanders that you no longer need. We have seen an activity that involves using these for threading with pipe cleaners and straws. Such activities are fantastic for developing the fine motor skills, pincer grip and manual dexterity needed to learn to write. Thank you in advance!
We currently have a few vacancies at breakfast club. If you would like your child to attend the cost is Β£4, which includes a healthy breakfast. Breakfast club begins at 8am each morning. If you would like to book a space on any days, please speak to a member of staff.
There is a raffle prize that has yet to be claimed from our Christmas draw. The ticket number is 116, so if you have that ticket, come and claim your hamper!
Once again, we hope you are ready for a fun and exciting half term. More information will be in a newsletter on here soon!
