This week we have continued to make things to sell at our Easter Fair. The children planted flowers in the pots they made. They look very colourful and pretty!
They also decorated Easter pencils. Using the fine paint brushes gave them a good opportunity to practise their fine motor skills. We also talked about the colours we were using and what happened to the paint when we added white to it.
This week we have been talking about Spring and the changes that occur. The children have noticed and talked about the new flowers that are growing and outside we have been looking for and listening to birds. Changes in the natural world are part of the curriculum and as the weather improves we will continue to highlight and discuss these.
As part of our Easter fair we are holding a raffle. Our aim is to purchase some new technology to use with the children as part of the ‘understanding the world’ part of the EYFS curriculum. We are extremely grateful to a parent who has bought us a lovely new child friendly camera. The children have absolutely loved using it.
Finally for now, our topics next half term will be ‘Maths’ and ‘The Rainbow Fish’. If any of you have any shiny or sparkly paper that you don’t need we would be delighted with any donations for our collage resources!
Thought this idea of getting the children to make and sell things was fab, love my decorative primrose and pot! Great work!
Thanks Marie! They worked hard! 👍
