This week we have been doing lots of cooking activities and the children have made some delicious things to eat. Some of you have been asking for the recipe for the biscuits that we made. You’ll be glad to hear that they are very simple! Here is the recipe we used:

Simple Biscuits

110g / 4oz butter

55g / 2oz sugar

Few drops vanilla extract

2.5 tbsp water

175b / 6oz plain flour

1. Preheat oven to 150 c / gas mark 2

2. Add butter and sugar to a bowl and mix well. Add vanilla and water, mix and then add the flour and mix well.

3. Roll out to about 5mm on a floured work surface. Cut into shapes and place on a greased baking tray.

4. Bake for 15-25 minutes, or until golden, depending on size!

We had another visit to the care home this week. The children and residents had a good old sing song with the musical instruments and finished off with a well deserved ice cream!F34E2736-BB95-429A-BF4D-087A927CE597C95CE286-8D71-4723-A918-B440A8F3910198E3FB50-7E37-41DD-9A54-AD24F71FB431A0ED2ACA-5516-498E-9CC0-ED59193647E8E97B0F78-2A15-4B3C-8F21-D280E69D702C967C706B-8B60-4BB6-9831-373254BCB649BDB85EF2-CB4E-4A4C-B38F-B873FE108368

We have been delighted to see the return of the sun this week and have used the opportunity to go outside and use the giant connect 4 game which was kindly donated by a parent. This game is excellent for developing the early maths skills of counting and sequencing and it’s also great fun when the rings fall out of the bottom!EAA6EFAA-27EF-4894-8AF8-E84655FD4C5F DAEC20DA-3E81-42C8-AFDD-4AFEDD5E26CF A2D12BAF-4C15-4F02-8930-C5263B3AE5B5

Some of our children were inspired by the English success at football and decided that they wanted to colour in the England three lions badge. We also danced to a medley of past England football anthems, which made some of us feel a little old: ‘three lions’ was released 20 years ago!7024BB0A-C00F-45A2-88A1-7DA7E55979D1

A quick ask now! If by any chance anyone has an unwanted wooden mug tree we would really like one to hang our headphones on. Fingers crossed!

Finally: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can you make sure that you apply sun cream to your child before they come to pre-school. We will reapply at lunchtime if your child stays all day. Thank you so much! πŸ‘πŸ™ŒπŸ˜„
