HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas and are refreshed and ready for a new term!
Welcome back everyone and a big hello to our new children and families. Don’t forget that we have an open door policy so if you have anything that you would like to tell us or achievements you would like to share, please feel free to speak to us at any time. For all of the new parents, please could you bring in a family photo for our display. The children love looking at these and talking about their families and what they do at home.
This half term we are celebrating Chinese New Year. 2020 will be the year of the rat and we do have a rat at preschool- Mr David! We will be doing lots of activities based on this and it is lovely to discover and celebrate different cultures. This also forms a part of the early years curriculum. We are looking for a wok to use in the play area, so if you have one at home that we could borrow we would be very grateful!
This week we have been settling back in to preschool life. This has involved lots of activities, such as threading, puzzles, games, drawing and painting.
We managed to use our outdoor space when the rain eased off.
Because we like to spend as much time as possible outside we take our coats on and off a lot. Practising this at home is good as then the children can be more independent. Also please can you make sure that you label all of your child’s clothing. It’s amazing how many children don’t recognise which coat belongs to them and when we have to search through unnamed coats, hats, scarves and shoes (and lunchboxes and bags!), the children miss out on having fun! 👍
Thank you for supporting our Christmas raffle. We have used the money raised to buy an outdoor book safe, so please feel free to choose a book to take home and share with your child.
Please be aware that we must have your 30 hour codes by next week as this is the deadline for submission. Speak to a member of staff ASAP as if your codes are not returned in time you will be charged for your child’s hours.
