Welcome back everyone, and a big hello to our new children!
This week we have enjoyed getting back to a lot of fun activities. We all love dancing footprints!
We also had our first visit to the care home this term. The children played darts with the residents and it all got very competitive! We also took advantage of the good weather to have a play and run outside.
We played with large and small construction toys and also practised our cutting skills. We like to get as much practise as possible with scissors at preschool as this is an important and tricky motor skill. The children liked cutting up pictures and putting them back together again, which is good for developing spatial skills.
As we are now entering the Summer term and will no doubt be having lots of amazing sunny weather (š), please can you ensure that your child comes to preschool with sun cream already applied. We will reapply factor 30 5 * UVA/B protection at lunchtime for those who stay all day. To help us to cover the cost of this we request that you make a donation of Ā£1, which can be handed to any member of staff. Alternatively you can send in a named bottle of sun cream for us to use on your child. If you do not want us to apply sun cream to your child at all, please let us know ASAP.
We really enjoyed reading your completed feedback forms. Thank you for all of the positive comments. We have taken note of your suggestions. As requested, billing will now occur every term instead of half term, beginning now. Another parent asked about Tapestry. Sharon and Chloe are going to look into this by using the 2 week free trial this term. We will let you know how we get on and what decisions we make.
Please could all grant funding forms be returned ASAP as the deadline is upon us. For your reference, a full day is 6.75 hours and 1 session is 3 hours. Thank you for your cooperation. š
Can we ask that you do not use mobile phones on the premises. We often have important things to tell you or forms for you to sign and it is so much easier if we can talk freely. Lots of settings discourage use of phones on their grounds and this is recommended practise. Thank you.
This week Wendy (Mrs Back) attended a safeguarding update course, which she then shared at our staff meeting.
Our letter of the week next week will be ‘k’.
Finally an update on our Easter coffee and cake funds. This week we have ordered a new water tray and shelf, which should be with us soon. Thank you all so much for your support. š
My daughters other pre school uses tapestry and Iām a huge fan of it. I think you will all like it
We’re really interested to find out and will let you know how we get on!
