Hello everyone!
We hope that you are all well and looking forward to returning to/starting at preschool. We are excited about welcoming you next week and have been working very hard following the latest government guidance to make our preschool safe, stimulating and welcoming.
We have slightly altered our opening hours from September:
8.30am-11.30am (morning)
12.30pm-3.30pm (afternoon)
8.30am-3.30pm (all day)
If you need to pick your child up early, can we request that you do so by 2.45pm at the latest. This is because the final part of the day is dedicated to quiet activities and preparing to go home and we find that pick ups at this time can be very disruptive.
There are a few things that we need to ask you to do to ensure that we all stay protected.
Please can you avoid congregating on the path inside the preschool grounds. The path is narrow and we ask that you wait on the lines outside the outer gate until it is clear whenever possible. We also ask that you do not enter the preschool room, instead passing your child in at the door. All children will be encouraged to sanitise their hands when they come in. Staff will be on hand to help with all of this and we will be doing our utmost to reassure and assist you!
If you child is unwell they should not attend preschool.
We will practice good hygiene throughout the day and the premises will be cleaned frequently. The room is arranged to allow free flow play as usual and although some activities may be limited, rest assured that we will provide lots of stimulating, fun and educational resources. Our aim is to ensure that your child settles well and is happy, safe and engaged.
Please can you provide a packed lunch if required and enough drink for the session. We will encourage their independence and self help skills, but we will of course assist any who need a bit of help at lunch and snack times!
Please label ALL of your child’s belongings and discourage them from bringing in toys from home. It is recommended that their clothes are washed after each session, so casual and easily laundered clothing is recommended.
We use TAPESTRY, which is an online learning journal, to keep you informed about your child’s activities and progress. We hope that you enjoy seeing all of the fun things that they get up to!
Although we are sad that we cannot currently welcome you into the preschool, please remember that we are always on hand for a chat, so if you have any questions or concerns or would just like to pass on some news or observations, do not hesitate to contact us either by phone, email or via tapestry.
We have a display of family photos at preschool and we find that the children love to look at and talk about these, especially if they are new. It would be lovely if you could bring one in for us to put up as soon as possible.
Thank you for all of your help with this.
See you soon!
Sharon, Claire, Sam, David, Chloe and Sam.
