Welcome back everyone, we hope that you had a lovely Easter and are ready to go for the start of the Summer term.

This term we will be doing lots of activities around school readiness to ensure that our children who are off to big school in September are prepared and raring to go. As part of this we will be opening the doors to foundation every week on a Thursday afternoon so that the children can go next door and experience big school life and meet the foundation children and teachers.

The children have been really interested in writing activities this week and we are responding to this by finding lots of different ways for them to practice their skills. We like to use the children’s interests to inform our planning to ensure that the children are really engaged in what they are doing.

When we cleaned out Sidney our snail this week the children decided to weigh him to see how heavy he is. As you can see, he is a very chunky boy!

Our letter of the week this week is ‘p’ and the children have thought of lots of words that begin with this sound. Why not ask them which ones they can remember!

We are hoping that the weather will get warmer and sunnier as the term progresses. On sunny days please make sure that you send your child to preschool with sun cream already applied. We will reapply at lunchtime and there will be more information about this on Tapestry soon.

There will be an opportunity for parents of our September leavers to come and have a chat to their child’s keyworker if they would like to on the evening of Monday 20th May (5.30-7pm). More details on this will also be on Tapestry soon.

A heads up for the last day of this half term (not that we’re counting!). Our final day before half term is Thursday 23rd May and Friday 24th is a non-pupil day. Don’t forget the May bank holiday as well, which is on Monday 6th.

Have a lovely weekend everybody. Take care and see you next week. ❤️❤️❤️
