This week we took the opportunity to go and have a look at the roadworks outside pre-school. As I’m sure you’ll agree, Plymouth seems to be overrun by roadworks at the moment, so we thought we would try to make the best of it!

For our Christmas craft we made some salt dough decorations. Mixing the dough, rolling it out and cutting it to shape is good motor skill practise and also leads to lots of language as the children talk to us about what they are doing.

Mr David began to put up our decorations, which was very exciting!

We were very grateful to our grandparent volunteer this week, as she made some lovely cakes with the children. It’s so nice to welcome visitors and the children like meeting new people and talking about different things. Such activities really develop links to our families and the community.

This week we welcomed two therapists from the speech and language service who offered us some valuable training on recognising and addressing speech development issues. It was a really interesting session and we gained a lot from it. They have offered another visit next term, so we are in the process of arranging a date for this.

This week we updated our outings policy. A link to it is here:

A small request now! We have found ourselves very short of socks (especially boys socks), so if you have any spare pairs at home, we would be very grateful for any donations. Thanks! 👍
