This week we took advantage of the lovely weather to have some trips to Collings Park. We love planting things with the children and watching them grow and this is also part of the early years curriculum. It’s amazing how many children are willing to try fruit and veg that they’ve grown themselves! Our carrots may not win any prizes, but we are proud of them anyway!
Inside we did some marble rolling pictures!
On Monday afternoon, we went for a story at ‘big school’. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to become used to a primary school environment before they make the move themselves. They really enjoy these visits.
We had another visit to the care home this week. We have arranged our dates to visit this term and are also hoping to have some of the residents visit us. We have been lucky enough to have been invited to their Halloween Party, which sounds like lots of fun! 🎉
If you have yet to bring a family photo for the display, it would be great if you could do so. The children like to talk about their families and it helps when they feel a little bit homesick!
The letter of the week next week will be ‘s’ and the makaton sign is ‘thank you’.
In response to the childrens’ interests we are setting up a ‘clothes shop’ at preschool. If anyone has any play tills, paper bags or shoe boxes that they don’t need we would be very grateful for them. 👍
We have been asked to spread the word to parents about the Plymouth City Council NHS ‘Healthy Start’ scheme, whereby eligible families can apply for free vouchers to spend on healthy food and drink, vitamins and infant formula. To find out more and to see if you qualify, check out the website:
It was lovely to have your blog feedback last week. Thank you for your replies. It’s nice to know what you and your children think about our blog and what we do each week. 🙌
We went down to the allotment at the weekend and talked about the lovely flowers you’ve planted, looks really lovely.
Thank you! We really enjoy it. 😀
