This week we have been sharing the story of The Gruffalo and have had lots of activities based on this. The children were excited by the gruffalo den that we made and this led to lots of imaginative play. Some snakes were cooked and eaten!
We also made a gruffalo crumble and some gruffalo inspired rice cakes for snack. The children all tried them and some thought they were really delicious! These activities gave us a chance to talk about hygiene and also healthy food.
We had lots of outdoor play as generally the weather wasn’t too bad.
We also practiced writing our names with the chalks this week. Making marks is an important step in early writing.
We really had a fun week
Well done to our tip top tidy uppers this week!
This time of year, when it’s cold and the children have extra clothes, it’s especially important that you label all of your child’s belongings. Hats, scarves and gloves are hard for the children to identify and it wastes a lots of valuable play time when we are trying to identify what belongs to each child. Similarly, please can you label backpacks, book bags, water bottles, coats and anything else brought in. Thank you!
We hope you have a good weekend. Take care everyone! ❤️❤️❤️
What a fabulous range of activities from one book. Oliver particularly liked making the fire and cooking a snake!!
It was so entertaining to see him in the gruffalo’s den!
