Welcome back everyone! We hope you have all had a lovely Easter break. We have enjoyed listening to what the children have been up over the holidays and seeing some of the photos you have added onto Tapestry. The children have shared these with their peers at group time, talking about the photos and what they have done.

The team had a staff meeting to discuss the children and what we want to do for the half term, also baring in mind school allocations have been done so we have had conversations with the children about where they will be attending in September.

With this in mind, starting next week we will be going for story with foundation on a Monday afternoons and having our open door transition afternoons on a Thursday afternoon. This is an opportunity for the children to explore foundation with the door between preschool and foundation being open so they can free flow back and forth! This is a unique opportunity for our children to get used to the school environment whilst still having the security and familiarity of the preschool.

To begin our week we talked to the children about St George’s day and why we celebrate it. They enjoyed hearing about St George and the dragon. They made some flags using different media to colour the cross.

We resumed our visits to Greenacres again, the children had lots of fun playing the games Kelly planned for them. In particular, Whack a mole!

We had Mrs Matthews’ son in to help tidy up our garden area. He has reinstated the borders and cleared our planter planting fresh plants, specifically chosen to include all the senses! The children have loved smelling and looking at these.

Whilst the garden was being done the children accessed the side garden. They enjoyed using the chalks on the path, drawing pictures and looking at books. Some of the children were also on a big hunt using their binoculars and magnifying glasses to find them!

The children all seemed very happy to be back with their friends!

☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️With the warm weather approaching could I please remind parents to apply suncream to their child before they come to preschool. As you can imagine it is very time consuming if we are needed to apply suncream to all 26 children. We will reapply after lunch before we go in the garden. We will hold a 5* UVA factor 30 cream which we can apply on your child. To help with the cost of this we are asking for a voluntary donation of £2 per child. This will mean we can replace bottles right up through to the end of term. If your child needs a specific suncream please could you provide a labelled bottle for us to keep in the box at preschool. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
