This week we have really been getting into the swing of the new term. We did an activity with the children which involved sorting gummi bears by colour. Talking about colours, shapes and numbers in everyday situations and including objects that interest the children is a really good way to introduce them to these concepts.

We continued our three bear theme by making porridge this week which most of the children enjoyed. We also made some bear ears and decorated different sized porridge bowls.
As well as making porridge, we made some super hero biscuits.
As promised in the last blog, we welcomed some new pets this week! Sidney and Shiny are African land snails and they are currently settling in to their new home. At the moment they are very little, but they should grow to about 15cm in length. We will keep you informed of their progress and show you the childrens reactions when we handle them for the first time!
We also welcomed our new student Jordan this week. Our previous student Craig left at Christmas to gain experience with younger children and Jordan is now starting his childcare journey. The children enjoyed playing games with him this week.
