This week has been very exciting as it’s been science week. We have done lots of amazing activities.
One of our favourite things this week has been the cola and mentos experiment. We have to do this outside for obvious reasons!
We also had some indoor fireworks. This gave us an opportunity to talk to the children about safety and listening to adult instructions.
The magic milk experiment is a lot of fun and we can talk about the way the colours mix and change.

Your child may have made a volcano this week. If you are brave you can make them erupt!
Here’s how to do it!

As it was pancake day on Tuesday, we made our own pancakes. This is also scientific as we talked about the change of state that the pancakes undergo (liquid to solid).

We did some experiments where the children predicted whether objects would float or sink (making predictions and testing them are important aspects of the scientific method!) 🤓
Some achievements in gymnastics and science this week. Well done!
Next week is literacy week and on Thursday it is World Book Day. We invite your child to attend on this day dressed as a story character of their choice. The staff will also be dressed up so it should be fun.
Our letter of the week next week will continue to be ‘f’ and our makaton sign will be ‘rain’ (no doubt we’ll have lots of chances to use this!)
