This half term we will be focusing on school readiness with the children as many of them are gearing up to start big school in September. Of course even the children who are staying with us benefit from practising skills such as putting their own coats and shoes on, washing their hands and the other learning and self help skills that make moving on an easier process.
Also this term we will be restarting our visits to Compton Primary for story time with the teachers. This is a good opportunity for everyone to see what big school is all about and to gain confidence. It is also very exciting for the children! In addition to this we will be opening the doors to the foundation classrooms on certain days so the children can play and mix with the current foundation children. All in all this term is set to be very busy!
This week we have done a wide range of activities as we settle back into the swing of things.
If you have yet to do so, don’t forget to sign up for our parents evening on Tuesday 5th July. Before this date you will receive your child’s transfer document to look at if they are due to go to primary school. This document is what we pass to the receiving school and you can add your comments and let us know if you are happy with what we have written!
Other dates for this term are:
Monday 18th and Tues 19th July: party days
Wednesday 20th July at 2pm: leavers assembly (more details to follow)
Thursday 21st July: final day of term. This will be our party in Collings Park from 10am-2pm. All family members are welcome to come and stay with their child to celebrate the end of the year. If it is rained off there will no pre-school on this day.
We hope that this final half term is sunny and happy! Have a good weekend everyone, take care.
