This week the weather has really warmed up, so we took the opportunity to get the paddling pool out. It was so popular that we had to get some overflow buckets and trays, but the children didn’t seem to mind! 😂😝💦

It wasn’t sunny all week though and on the rainy day we did some chalking on the wet ground.

We also did some large construction, which is good motor skill practice and also introduces concepts such as more and less and taller and shorter.

As you will have read on tapestry, we are able to go ahead with both our leavers celebration and our party in the park as planned. Don’t forget that if the party in the park has to cancelled due to poor weather there will be no pre-school on that day. Hopefully this will not happen as the forecast looks really promising!

For all our children who are returning next year, the first day of the Autumn term will be Wednesday 8th September. We look forward to seeing you after a lovely Summer break. Let’s hope that we have a return to a much more normal situation by then!

This is the last blog post of this year and we would like to say a massive thank you to you all for your support over what has been at times a challenging year. We think of you all as part of our pre-school family and appreciate you very much!

To all the children who are leaving us for big school, we wish you the very best of luck for all that you do in the future. We will miss you!

Finally, a poem:

Sticky fingers, runny noses,

Heads, shoulders, knees and toes-es.

Shapes and colours, ABC’s

Taking turns and 123’s

Lots of smiles, hugs and giggles,

Circle time and lots of wiggles’

Building blocks and dress-up clothes’

Learning how a flower grows.

Milk and apples, first-time friend,

Thinking days like this won’t end.

Pre-school’s done before you know,

Blink and eye and off you go.

Like a butterfly you’ve flown,

You have learned and you have grown.

Tiny chairs give way to desks,

Book reports and spelling tests.

So take off now, spread your wings,

Soar to new heights, learn new things.

Just remember, as you do,

Someone’s very proud of you.

❤️❤️❤️
