As we said in last weeks blog, we like to respond to things that the children are interested in and share with us spontaneously. The ‘Supertato’ book was such a big hit that we decided to extend this this week by making our very own tatoes!
The weather has been kind this week, which has meant that we have been able to spend time outdoors. The children enjoyed writing letters in shaving foam. Learning to write is obviously an important skill and this activity is a good way to encourage children by making it a lot of fun!
Some children looked particularly cool whilst riding the scooters!
Lots of picking and planting was done. The children made magic potions from the herbs and flowers in the garden, which smelt gorgeous.
Mrs Wilson visited us to help with the gardening and plant some tomatoes. Hopefully the sun will continue to shine and we’ll get a bumper crop. Some of the children have been able to try our raspberries, but they are a bit few and far between at the moment!
We also had a visit to the allotment this week. Everything is looking beautiful at the moment and there are lots of exciting things to do and see!
Next week we are hoping to be able to use the paddling pool as the weather forecast is looking good. If you would like your child to have a dip, please can you send in their swimming costume and a small towel. Fingers crossed that the Met Office have got it right!
Our Makaton sign this week has been ‘goodbye’ and the letter of the week next week will be ‘j’.
Don’t forget that the parents evening for leavers is on Monday. Please bring the transfer document with you when you come.
