This week we have taken small groups of children to Hartley Park to collect leaves and have fun. We aim to do this as much as possible while the weather stays good.

We used the leaves we collected to make leaf print paintings. This also gave us an opportunity to talk about Autumn and the seasonal changes we see, as well as exploring colours.

We extended our exploration of colour by mixing different coloured water together . The children began with the primary colours and made predictions about what colours they would make when they mixed them. Seeing how the colours change seems almost magical to the children and they really enjoyed this activity.

Another fun activity this week was making pancakes. Sam Matthews brought in her crepe maker and the children made the batter and watched from a safe distance as it cooked. They also enjoyed eating the results!
