Well, weโve finally come to the end of a hectic, but rewarding year. As always, we are filled with mixed emotions of pride and a little bit of sadness, as we say goodbye to another group of fantastic children.
We hope that those parents whose children are going to primary school enjoyed our leavers service on Monday. Iโm sure that you will agree that the children were fantastic. Of course, this was an especially sad occasion as we also said goodbye to Mrs Woodmason.
Mary began her time with Compton Pre-school in 1997, being there on the opening day, and has contributed her considerable kindness, knowledge, thoughtfulness and expertise as both assistant and as Senco during the ensuing 21 years. We hope that the close relationships that we have as a team are evident, as we feel that the really strong friendships that have developed help to make our Pre-school a happy place. Mary will be very much missed as a colleague, even though she will remain a good friend. Thank you to everyone who gave donations and presents for her, she was very touched.
Everyone had lots of fun on Tuesday and Wednesday at our party days. The children played traditional party games, such as pass the parcel and musical chairs, and they enjoyed making their own party food, hats and balloons.
We were really lucky that one of our children brought in some butterflies that they had hatched at home for us to observe and release. This was a really exciting event and generated lots of conversation. It is so kind when parents share these activities with us- thank you so much!
A final swimming achievement for the year – well done. Such important skills are great to celebrate! ๐
Dont forget our โparty in the parkโ on Friday at West Hoe Park, from 10 am – 2pm. I hope to put some photos from this extravaganza up over the weekend, so check back then!
Finally, we would like to thank everyone for all of your amazing support over the last year, and for all of the gifts, cards and good wishes you have given us. The very best of luck to everyone who is making the transition to primary school, and to those who are not, we will see you again in September. We hope that you all have fantastic summer!
Bye for now! ๐๐โ๏ธ๐
