During your child’s time with us we are working on the skills that lead to a smooth and successful transition to primary school. There are some of the expected characteristics that should be displayed by your child to show school readiness.
They should be able to:
- Be independent in toileting
- Dress themselves
- Understand expected levels of behaviour
- Take turns and share
- Sit still for a short period of time
- Separate well from parents/carers
- Ask for what they want and respond to others needs politely
It really helps if you can reinforce and support these goals at home. 🙂
