This week we have spent time doing some of the things that are important to learn to become more independent.
The children practised putting on their coats, with varying degrees of success! Β Where possible it is good to encourage your child to try and do this (and other dressing tasks, including shoes) by themselves. It makes the transition into school much easier for them if they can be as self sufficient as possible.
Also this week we have been doing our own washing up, which is fun, if not always very efficient!
We did a collage activity this week and there were some lovely pictures.
We also used the building blocks.
The musical instruments are always popular. We played a game where the children had to tap, bang or shake along to the syllables in their names. This is a skill that links to later reading and writing.
One of our children swam 10 metres this week: well done! πππ
Dont forget that next week is our last before the half term break. There are still some places available for holiday club so if you would like your child to attend, please speak to a member of staff.
