This week it has felt a bit like the rain will never go away and we are all looking forward to some nicer spring weather soon! However, this hasn’t stopped us from going outside and the children do enjoy the puddles.
Lots of children have been practising their fine motor skills, letter formation and early writing this week. We find that children who may be reluctant to sit at a table and draw are often keener if we introduce them to different media, such as chalks. Scissor use can be hard to master and we give children lots of opportunities to have a go at cutting up different things.
Following on from our vegetable activity last week, Mr David did an activity which encouraged the children to think about which foods are healthy and which should be occasional treats.
On Friday we all made a big cake. The children enjoyed measuring out the ingredients that they needed which was good number practice and also helped develop concepts of more and less. When the cake was in the oven it made preschool smell lovely.
As always, we got up to lots of things!
You may have noticed that we have received our Compton Reading Quest box. Please feel free to choose a book for yourself or your child and either bring it back or replace it with one that you no longer want.
We hope you have a lovely weekend. See you next week. Take care everyone! ❤️❤️❤️
