After the warmth of last week, it has been a bit of a shock to have such a cold snap this week. We still managed to spend plenty of time outside in the sunshine though! One activity that we have been doing is to plant sunflower seeds. If your child has already done this and the seed is growing give us an update on tapestry!
Our caterpillars have now all pupated and we are waiting to see when they begin to emerge. We are keeping everything crossed that they do so before the Easter holidays! 🤞🏼
We made banana cakes this week. The children enjoyed measuring and mixing the ingredients and they made the pre-school smell lovely.
Another activity this week involved exploring shape and colour. The children were asked to make a collage by selecting named shapes and colours. This was a good way to reinforce these concepts and produced some lovely pictures.
Don’t forget that next week is the last week of term. We return on Monday 25th April for the Summer term. Next Friday (8th) are our ‘stay and play’ sessions between 10 and 11am and 1 and 2pm. It has been such a long time since we have been able to welcome you all into pre-school and we can’t wait to see any of you who are able to come.
Also on Friday (4-5.30pm) is our gathering at Collings Park for Mr David. We have purchased a silver birch tree which we are going to plant in remembrance with a simple plaque. Mr David’s funeral is on Thursday at St Andrew’s church at 3pm. All are welcome and the dress code is casual and colourful. Don’t forget that we will be closed that afternoon so all children will need to be collected at 11.30am.
We hope that you have a lovely weekend. Take care everyone. ❤️❤️❤️
