This week we have been doing lots of exciting experiments for our science week.
The children liked the ‘magic milk ‘ and skittles experiments which showed the effects of colours mixing.
For a longer term experiment we decided to grow some cress seeds. This is good for encouraging the children to make predictions and also for studying changes over time. The seeds have already started to sprout! 🌱
One day we set off some indoor fireworks, which caused a stir! We were very careful to stress the importance of safety and adult supervision during this activity. 💥
Another hit was the cola and mentos experiment. I really enjoy this one, even though I risk getting wet! 😱
Because we have all enjoyed science week so much we have decided to continue the theme into next week, so prepare for more experiments! This week we have done other things too.
Two children have completed the Compton Book Quest this week. Well done! 🙌📚
And very well done to our trophy winner!🏆
This week staff did some developing resilience training. Mr David’s was on ‘Well-being Wednesdays’ and Mrs Matthews’ was ‘Thoughtful Thursdays’. We have all needed to be a little more resilient over the last year so it’s good to get some tips.
We hope that you all have a lovely Mothers’ Day on Sunday. Take care and see you next week! ❤️❤️❤️
Oliver loved science week and is still talking about the indoor fireworks! He loved the worm one!
That’s my favourite too-it’s amazing!
Nancy loved Science week and has had so much to talk about
I’m so glad she’s enjoyed it!
