This week we’ve had some rain for the first time in a long time. Although we love the sunshine, as you know the rain is important for the plants in our gardens and the countryside. It’s also good for the farmers who are growing food for us to eat.
Mrs Matthews and Miss Warren both dodged the raindrops to take a walk in Efford Marsh. We know that some of you have been there too. Mrs Matthews was listening to all of the birds singing. At the moment lots of birds are building nests and laying their eggs. I wonder if any of you have seen some in your gardens?
On the way back from her walk Mrs Matthews bumped into one of our preschool families. It’s always lovely to see you when we are out and about.
If you have been past preschool lately, you may have seen our new banner!
Mrs Matthews niece and nephew have also been on lots of walks. On one of them they collected some sticks which they painted and their mummy framed. Perhaps you would like to have a go at doing this?
Miss Warren has been baking again this week. She made some cookies which she gave to her friends. They look really lovely! It’s so nice to receive presents from our friends and people that we love.
Mrs Back has been thinking about VE Day, which we would have been celebrating at preschool next week. Perhaps you can ask your mummies and daddies what this is. We would have made bunting, which lots of children have been doing at home and you might like to try. Can you see the shapes that Mrs Back has used? Her bunting looks beautiful.
Mrs Chapple has made a very exciting chocolate volcano this week using some left over Easter eggs, cornflakes and icing sugar. I think it looks delicious, but she said that no-one wanted to eat it in her house!
She also tried to make a ‘v’ out of sticks on her walk, but Codie kept taking them and running away!
She found some fruit and vegetables in her kitchen. Do you know which are which? I’ve also been looking at fruit and veg this week, as you will see from the letter of the week video!
Mrs Matthews made an afternoon tea with homemade scones and she also lit her chimnea and toasted marshmallows. It sounds yummy! Mr Matthews spent this week making something amazing for preschool. When we are back you will be able to play with it!
I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing Mr David’s tapestry posts again this week. We want another appearance by Emu, Mr David!
It’s been a thrilling week in the Beal household. I changed the toilet seat in my downstairs toilet and finished redecorating my utility room. I hope you like my bunting too!
Some parents have asked for some advice for encouraging their children to draw and write. The link below has some useful tips that might inspire those children who are reluctant to do this.

Don’t forget to check out the letter of the week and makaton videos on tapestry. Thank you for all of your posts, we love them!
Take care everyone and we hope to see you soon ❤️❤️❤️

Emu will be back. Unfortunately I left him at pre-school for our next session. But because it was cancelled Emu was in isolation at pre-school. I have managed to pick him up today. I looks like he has been behaving. Might have another guest this week.
That’s exciting news! Is it Spit the dog?
