Welcome to the first blog post of a new academic year! We hope that you have all had a lovely summer and would like to say a big hello to all of our new children and welcome back to our returners from last year. It’s lovely to see you all.
The weather this week has been quite kind (if a bit chilly!) and we have made the most of our outdoor area. We plan to plant some herbs outside soon, so watch this space. This week we have been playing hard!
We have made lots of play dough together and also made some biscuits that we can eat. Cooking is great fun and also gives us an opportunity to talk about hand hygiene and early maths skills like counting, measuring and more and less.
On the subject of maths skills, the children have been really interested in our penguin matching this week. Being able to copy a sequence is a maths milestone and we also like to talk about the colours.
You may have heard about our preschool pets from your children. We have an African land snail called Sidney and four stick insects. We find that lots of the children are really keen to help look after our pets and they spark lots of conversations.
We have been asked to share the following resources which may be of interest to you or someone that you know:
Some diary dates for you. Half term is the week beginning on Monday 28th October and we will be running our holiday club on the Monday and Tuesday. If you would like to book a space please speak to a member of staff.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. Take care and see you next week. ❤️❤️❤️
